Organization

Table of the Elements is a curatorial network and interdisciplinary platform, a live-event presenter, and a fine-arts publisher of print, audio, and film. Since 1993, it has worked with international creators of radical innovation across music, literature, and intermedia art. Its catalog of 170+ releases, along with influential festivals and publications, has been described by Pitchfork as “a national treasure.”

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated intern with strong graphic and video editing skills to help adapt original fine-arts publishing content for contemporary platforms. This role focuses on creating high-impact visuals and short-form campaigns (Instagram Reels, stories, digital posts), transforming catalog and archival material into engaging formats without compromising aesthetic integrity.

This role also supports the broader, member-powered mission of Table of the Elements, connecting artists and audiences through storytelling, publishing, and digital engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Frequent Instagram Reels and short-form video posts

  • Adapt catalog entries, essays, and archival material into visually striking posts

  • Edit and format images and video for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Squarespace, and Substack

  • Maintain a consistent, dignified aesthetic while reaching wider audiences

Qualifications

  • Graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Adobe Express)

  • Video editing skills (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)

  • Familiarity with Instagram and other platforms as cultural publishing tools

  • Strong visual literacy; sensitivity to typography, layout, and composition

  • Interest in experimental music, literature, and visual art is preferred

Structure

  • 5–10 hours per week, flexible, remote-friendly

Compensation

This role provides access to an internationally recognized, member-powered network of artists and publishers, along with portfolio-ready production experience and credibility within the fine-arts community. Previous interns have gone on to award-winning careers in publishing, production, and curation.

The internship is unpaid in salary terms, but academic credit is possible. The primary value lies in the access, credibility, and association gained by working within a member-powered international arts network.

To Apply

Submit a portfolio (10–15 samples) plus a statement (max 300 words) describing the value you perceive in Table of the Elements and how this opportunity might reverberate for you. We are not concerned with résumés — we know what it’s like to start from scratch. A thoughtful statement that reveals an affinity with our artists and mission will resonate.

Thank you for your interest!
